Today we are facing turbulent times once again. It is like the 1960s. But really, for this to still be happening in 2020 is absolutely without excuse. We must call it for what it is – overt and covert racism and, it must stop. Here at the DSC, everyone is more than welcome. We will serve you equally and equitably, without prejudice. At any time you believe this is not the case, just come forward and we will have a conversation with corresponding action. Dancer Alvin Ailey said, “One of the worst things about racism is what it does to young people.” Please know that the DSC team and I are committed to making sure that every young (and older) person we come into contact with will not be impacted by systemic racism but will be treated with the kindness, empathy, compassion and advocacy you so truly deserve. Do not hesitate to contact me for a listening ear, a kind word, and action to make a change.
